Of all the social media outlets I have to say Pinterest is my favorite. While I use Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, most of my focus has been on Pinterest. Not long after I started blogging I decided to create a new Pinterest business account to keep things separated from my personal account. So this meant I was starting from scratch and had to build a following.
In the past 3 months I have worked aggressively to build my Pinterest following and have seen quite a bit of success in it. One of the things I did was to make sure my Pinterest Boards were appealing.
Setting Up Pinterest Boards
When I set up my boards I spent quite a bit of time creating board covers and making the boards visually appealing. Not everyone has board covers and that is okay. This is a personal preference for me. I think it keeps everything clean. Should you choose to create board covers it is very simple.
I use Canva to create my board covers. It is free and very easy to use. The perfect size for a board cover is 217 px by 147 px. Here are the steps I took:
- Open up Canva and select “use custom dimensions” and put in the above dimensions.
- Create your background cover and your text, etc. and save it to your desktop. This is what it will look like:
- Open up Pinterest and go to your profile and upload image as you normally would and save it to the board you want it to go to.
- On your board click on the edit button and on the screen that pops up to edit you want to click on “change” for the cover photo then click on your board cover and hit save.
There you have it! It is that simple to create board covers for Pinterest.
